Blueberry Picking

I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family...Blueberry! That's right, as though 2009 hadn't been exciting enough, my body decided to work all on it's own. So despite 18 months of infertility hell I am pregnant!!! I have been dating someone (B P) since the late Spring and well, y'all are adults. We are very excited and have mostly adjusted to the new course of events.

B has a 5 year old daughter, E, who lives in Michigan with her mother so Blueberry will have a sweet big sister. He is originally from Boston (insert Yankee joke here) and went to Georgia for graduate school. After post docs in Michigan and Missouri he moved to Macon almost 3 years ago to teach in the Medical School (insert Mechel loves science geeks joke here).

So a little update on me and Blueberry. I am 14 weeks today. Amen for the end of nausea (that actually ended about 2 1/2 weeks ago thankfully). Nothing to show for the last 14 weeks really. I actually lost 2 lbs at my appointment last week. I know...I need to eat. The picture is from 9 weeks at my first appointment. I got an extra special present from one of my Macon Mom's two weeks ago and got an extra ultrasound! It was wonderful and I got to watch Blueberry sleep, jump around and suck his or her thumb for 45 minutes. Best lunch hour EVER! Our next appointment is in November for the "big" ultrasound but no peeking for us. I know some people think we're crazy (Baby Daddy sometimes included) but I've never wanted to find out so you'll just have to wait. Speaking of...Blueberry's big day is currently scheduled for April 15.

So file your taxes early people...we'll have bigger fish to fry on Tax Day! Or thereabouts...

Love you bunches from your crazy, cracked out friend (and now Mommy)!
M
